Taro
A Japanese feast in the heart of Brighton, celebrating their first birthday.
I was invited down to Taro to celebrate their first birthday, and it was the perfect excuse to try more of their authentic Japanese menu.
What we ate
We started with the tori karaage, the perfect start to the feast. The shoyu pork ramen was a real highlight: proper comfort food. The seaweed salad was a surprise favourite, fresh, light and incredibly tasty.
Then came the chef's special sushi, the Brighton Roll: salmon, prawn, tuna and yellowtail with asparagus, avocado and tobiko, finished with spicy mayo. Not only was it SO pretty, it tasted amazing too.
We couldn't say no to the ube purple yam ice cream. A really unique flavour and the perfect way to finish.
The verdict
A proper feast, a welcoming team and delicious food. Happy birthday Taro, here's to many more years.
I was invited to try this one. As always, all opinions are my own.
