Matador
Hove's indulgent burger spot takes things up a notch with steaks on the menu.
Having opened in Hove last year, Matador has built a name for its indulgent, seriously delicious burgers, and now they're taking things up a notch by adding steaks to the menu.
What we ate
We kicked things off with the brisket croquettes, followed by a juicy ribeye with peppercorn sauce, bone marrow mash and truffle mac cheese. We also tried the special Matador Lomito: steak, chimichurri mayo, caramelised onions and rocket in a ciabatta bun, served with fries.
Drinks and dessert
This time we got to try the cocktail menu, and the spicy margarita was exceptional. Save room for dessert: the baked pistachio cheesecake was a particular highlight.
The verdict
A lovely venue, a great menu and a welcome addition of steaks alongside their signature burgers. Definitely worth a visit if you're after a good burger or steak in Hove.
